There are two ways to create a board in Akievo: (1) Use AI Board Generation by describing your goal or project, and our AI will create a complete board with lists, cards, timelines, and dependencies for you. (2) Create a board manually and add lists and cards yourself. Many users start with AI generation to get a solid foundation, then customize from there.

A workspace is a container for organizing related boards. For example, freelancers might create a workspace for each client, while teams might have workspaces for different departments or projects. A board is where the actual work happens—it contains lists (columns) and cards (tasks) for a specific project or goal. You can have multiple boards within a workspace.

No, you don't need a credit card to sign up for Akievo. The Free plan costs nothing and requires no payment information. You only need to provide payment details if you choose to upgrade to a paid plan.

Akievo offers seven different views to visualize your work: Kanban Board (classic drag-and-drop columns), Table View (spreadsheet-style with sorting and filtering), Calendar View (tasks organized by due dates), Timeline/Gantt View (project timeline with dependencies), Eisenhower Matrix (urgency vs. importance prioritization), Critical Path View (dependency graph showing blockers), and Dashboard (board health metrics and analytics). The Free plan includes Kanban, Table, Calendar, Eisenhower Matrix and Dashboard; Timeline/Gantt, Critical Path and Files views are included from the Starter plan ($5/month) upwards.

The Eisenhower Matrix is a decision-making framework that helps you prioritize tasks based on their urgency and importance. Tasks are organized into four quadrants: Do First (urgent and important), Schedule (important but not urgent), Delegate (urgent but not important), and Eliminate (neither urgent nor important). This view is included free in Akievo—a feature that competitors like Asana charge for.

Akievo supports block/blocked-by relationships between tasks. When you set a dependency, a task cannot be started until its blocking task is completed. The Critical Path View visualizes these dependencies as a graph, showing you which tasks are blocking others and identifying the critical path that affects your project deadline. Dependencies are included from the Starter plan ($5/month) upwards — far cheaper than competitors like Trello, who put them on much pricier tiers.

Yes! Akievo supports recurring tasks with flexible patterns: daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. You can also set end conditions (e.g., repeat 10 times, or until a specific date). When a recurring task is completed, a new instance is automatically created based on your recurrence rule.

Checklists are sub-items within a card that help you break down a task into smaller steps. Each checklist item can have its own assignee and due date, making it perfect for tasks that require multiple steps or involve different team members. You can create multiple checklists per card to organize different aspects of a task.

Board Reports generate executive summaries of your project, showing progress, upcoming deadlines, blocked tasks, and team activity. You can export reports to PDF or image format to share with stakeholders who don't have Akievo access. Board Reports are available on every plan, including Free.

AI Board Generation is Akievo's flagship feature. Simply describe your goal or project (e.g., "Launch a SaaS product," "Plan a wedding," "Learn Spanish in 6 months"), and our AI will create a complete project board with lists, cards, due dates, dependencies, and realistic timelines. It's like having a project manager create your plan for you—instantly.

The AI Copilot is a chat-based assistant available in the right sidebar of your board. You can ask it questions, get suggestions for next steps, request bulk actions (like "move all overdue tasks to the top"), or get help when you're stuck. It understands your board context and can make intelligent recommendations.

AI features in Akievo use credits. Different actions cost different amounts: Copilot chat messages use 1 credit, AI Board Generation uses 5 credits, and task suggestions use 2 credits. The Free plan includes 1 credit per month, Starter ($5/month) includes 25, Pro ($12/month) includes 500, and Pro Plus ($29/month) includes 2,000. Credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle.

When you run out of AI credits, all non-AI features continue to work normally. You can still use all views, create and manage tasks, collaborate with team members, and access your boards. You'll need to wait for your credits to refresh at the start of your next billing cycle, upgrade to a plan with more credits, or purchase additional credits.

Yes. Akievo supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), so you can manage project tasks directly through ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible AI clients. You can ask ChatGPT to create tasks, update your boards, check your schedule, and more—all without leaving the ChatGPT interface.

AI-generated plans are designed to give you a solid starting point based on best practices and common project patterns. However, every project is unique, and the AI may not know specific constraints or requirements of your situation. We recommend reviewing the generated plan and customizing it to fit your needs. Think of it as a first draft created by an experienced project manager.

Akievo offers four plans: Free ($0 forever), Starter ($5/month), Pro ($12/month), and Pro Plus ($29/month). The Free plan includes: 1 board, 1 workspace, 2 team members, 1 AI credit per month, 10MB storage, the Kanban, Table, Calendar, Eisenhower Matrix and Dashboard views, recurring tasks, checklists, board reports and API access. Stepping up to Starter ($5/month) adds 4 boards, 2 workspaces, 25 AI credits, 50MB storage and the Timeline, Critical Path and Files views.

To upgrade your plan, go to your Account Settings and select Subscription. You can choose between monthly and annual billing (save 17% with annual). All payments are securely processed through Paddle, our payment provider.

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time through the Paddle customer portal. When you cancel, your access continues until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free plan, and you'll retain access to your data within the Free plan limits.

Yes! We offer special pricing for nonprofit organizations and educational institutions. Please contact us at hello@akievo.com with details about your organization, and we'll be happy to discuss options.

You can invite team members at the workspace level (they'll have access to all boards in that workspace) or at the board level (for access to a specific board only). Go to Workspace Settings or Board Settings and enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite. They'll receive an email invitation to join. The Free and Starter plans allow up to 2 team members, Pro allows 5, and Pro Plus is unlimited.

Yes! You can generate a public, read-only link for any board. This is perfect for sharing progress with clients, stakeholders, or anyone who doesn't need an Akievo account. They can view the board but cannot make changes. You can revoke the public link at any time.

Akievo has three access levels for boards: Owner (full control, can delete the board and manage settings), Editor (can create, edit, and delete cards and lists), and Viewer (read-only access). Workspace members can be given different roles that affect their default access to boards within that workspace.

Akievo sends notifications for important events like task assignments, due date reminders, comments, and team activity. You can receive notifications via email and/or push notifications (on supported browsers). Notification preferences are fully configurable in your Account Settings—you can enable or disable specific notification types.

Yes! Akievo provides a full REST API that allows you to programmatically access and manage your boards, lists, cards, and more. You can generate personal API keys in your Account Settings. Check out our API Documentation for endpoints, examples, and authentication details.

Yes! Webhooks allow you to receive real-time notifications when events happen in your boards (e.g., card created, card moved, comment added). You can configure webhooks in Board Settings and specify which events you want to receive. Akievo supports signature verification so you can validate that webhook payloads are authentic.

Yes! You can connect your Akievo boards to Slack channels to receive notifications about board activity. When a card is created, completed, or commented on, your team can be notified directly in Slack. Configure Slack integration in Board Settings.

Yes! If you're migrating from Trello, you can export your board as JSON from Trello and import it into Akievo. The import preserves your lists, cards, labels, and card descriptions. Learn more about the migration process on our Why Switch page.

Yes. Akievo uses industry-standard encryption for data at rest and in transit. Our infrastructure is hosted on secure, SOC 2 compliant cloud providers. We regularly audit our security practices and keep our systems updated. For more details, read our Privacy Policy.

Yes! Akievo is fully compliant with UK GDPR and EU GDPR regulations. We are a UK-based company and act as the data controller for user data. We provide clear privacy notices, honor data subject rights (access, deletion, portability), and have appropriate data processing agreements in place.

Yes. You can request account deletion by contacting us at support@akievo.com. Upon request, we will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days. Some data may be retained for legal or compliance purposes as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

Only you and the team members you explicitly invite have access to your boards. We do not access or view your board content unless required for support (with your permission) or legal compliance. Public boards are viewable by anyone with the link, but you control when to enable or disable public sharing.

On the sign-in page, click "Forgot Password" and enter your email address. You'll receive an email with a link to reset your password. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder. If you still have issues, contact support@akievo.com.

AI credits are consumed by AI features: Copilot chat (1 credit per message), AI Board Generation (5 credits), and task suggestions (2 credits). You can check your credit usage in Account Settings. Credits refresh at the start of each monthly billing cycle. If you're using AI features heavily, consider upgrading to a plan with more credits.

Yes! You can export individual boards using the Board Report feature, which generates PDF or image exports. For a full data export of all your boards and account data, please contact support@akievo.com, and we'll provide a complete export of your data.
